CELEBRATE CHILDHOOD
Welcome to Bethany Early Childhood Center, Colorado’s premier child care and learning environment for young, eager minds. Our preschool allows each and every child to grow, explore, and discover our world through play-based learning.
We strive for holistic child development through mind, body, and spirit. Our inclusive preschool welcomes and supports all faith traditions and family backgrounds as we prepare strong, confident children to explore and experience all the joyful wonders of the world.
We use developmentally appropriate curriculum to challenge and inspire young children. Each age-specific room builds on developmental milestones to encourage exploration, creativity, and curiosity.
We pride ourselves on hiring the most compassionate, well-educated teachers in the industry. Our staff holds Masters and Doctorate degrees in early childhood education, allowing us to adapt for every child’s needs.
My name is Vicki Hare and I am the Director of Bethany Early Childhood Center. I am a native of Colorado and have spent most of my life right here in the southeast area. I have been teaching for 25 years in the Cheery Creek, Douglas County School districts as well as Head Start.
I grew up on a goat farm in northwest Missouri. After high school, I attended Truman State University in Kirksville, MO and earned my BA in Russian Studies with a minor in music (I play the flute). After college I moved to South Korea and taught kindergarten for two and a half years. I moved to Colorado in the fall of 2016 to be closer to family who are scattered around the Denver and Durango areas.

Hi, my name is Gerry Lacey and I am the Jr Kindergarten teacher. I have taught all grade levels since 1980, including work with special needs children. This is my 3rd year teaching at BECC. In addition, I have earned 3 masters degrees which include Counseling Psychology, Special Education, and Early Childhood Education.
My name is Kathryn Jackson and I am the lead teacher in the Ducking’s class. I started teaching at BECC in January 2019. I graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Human Sciences and have over 10 years of experience working with young children.
I came to Colorado in 1970 from Baltimore, Maryland. I had come to visit friends the previous year and knew this is where I wanted to live. For many years I was a craft person and made my living making jewelry and pottery. In the mid 80’s I needed a change and after much research I choose preschool teaching because I love children and felt the early years were the most important time in development.
Not only does Bethany benefit the whole child, our center accommodates the needs of working parents with hours that make life easier—and more fun—for families.
